Baskets

Baskets are useful for leaving on your bike, and means you can be an impulsive shopper. All baskets all have a quick release mechanism so you can easily take the baskets off your bike and into the fruit shop. Grab one of these, and you have another reason to say no to plastic bags!

The wicker baskets are reinforced with steel frames and will survive years of use.  Of course, the steel frames are discreetly tucked into the wicker, so don’t detract from the basket’s rustic appearance.

Panniers for Style and Practicality

Made from gel coated polyester,  these beauties will turn heads. Complete with rubber feet, rear reflectors and a discreet pocket for the pannier clips, the Dutch have thought of everything in designing this range.  With their loud prints echoing 1970’s wallpaper, you can have a choice of several colours.  The Blossom Twig double bag is perfect for those trips to the Queen Vic Market on Saturdays. The Daily Commuter

We’re getting into serious territory here.  The Preston range is built for the everyday commuter. These  panniers are perfect for laptops, shopping, and occasional touring. Made from high grade polyester, the fabric has a foam core sewn in to protect the bag’s contents.  This makes the panniers a little soft and squishy, and so, will stop your books and vegies going the same way.

Heavy Duty/Touring.

If you need a pannier that is going to withstand all weather conditions, daily use and long distance touring, The Forrest Rear Rider is  for you. Its simple construction – one compartment, minimal  seams – means there are less weak points for the bag to fall apart.  The top opening rolls over itself, to ensure that your sleeping bag, scroggin and clothes  will stay bone-dry whatever the weather.  This bag also comes with an adjustable shoulder strap, so can be easily used when you’re doing your nightly shop.

The vintage styling is a  nod to Gazelle’s 116 year history. But don’t let the looks fool you, these bikes are rock solid. Seen everywhere in bicycle friendly Amsterdam, these are the sort of bike that are reliable, comfortable and built to last.

We have four models currently in store, each offers different features. All are complete with pack racks, lights, built in wheel locks and are ready to roll. We also offer a free first service – very handy once you and the bike had a bit of a chance to break each other in.

As we’ve said before, these bikes aren’t cheap, but once you add the cost of the built in accessories to a bike you’ve bought off the rack, they come in at pretty good value.

Gazelle Basic

Of all the Gazelle bikes, this model is built with fun and style in mind. As you can see, the entire bike is built with the finished product in mind. This doesn’t mean that this treadly is a toy, these are designed with the  Amsterdam commuter in mind.

Chamonix Pure

This Model brings the Dutchies into the next century. A more relaxed geometry, this bike is the one seen regularly by the canals in Amsterdam. With 3 speeds, it’s got all the gear ratios you need to get you from the Yarra to Bell Street and beyond.

Gazelle’s sporty version, this pushy will look after you on your way to work, and keep you fit on weekends. With this bike, you can tear up the Gym membership!

The Quick release adjustable handlebar also gives you a variety of riding positions.

The Deluxe model from Gazelle, this version is a little more sporty and comes with all the trimmings. This model comes complete with a 24 gear setup, and will get you anywhere on the weekends. Along with all the features of the other Gazelle bikes, this model comes with a few more extras.

You may have seen bikes like this on Melbourne roads, but most are cheap copies of this time-honed design. These bikes feature an upright riding position and come with quality parts and accessories -  bikes are sold complete and ready to commute straight off the shelf.

Of course this means the price tag isn’t cheap, but if you add dynamo lights, a quality lock, mudguards and a sturdy rack to the cost of a standard bike, this stylish setup represents excellent value. They even have a chain-guard and skirt-guard so you can ride in a stylish getup!
