Hunt bikes 29er bikepacking rig

The Hunt has been well thought out, the geometry is relaxed giving it a nimble and fun feel on the trail. The wheel base is fairly long for a rigid bike making it very stable when loaded up for weekend adventures. The Snowy mountains and the hills around Canberra have been a testing ground for the initial prototype frames. Further to this, Hunt founder Dan Hunt has put together a self supported ride from Canberra to Melbourne that kicks off late November. This is sure to show the strengths of this frame and fork package. A few of our customers will be lining up at the start of the inaugural Hunt 1000 and we can’t wait for the high country photo’s to start streaming in!

The Double butted 4130 cro mo frame comes with room for 3 water bottle cages and two Salsa anything cage  mounts on the fork legs. You can fit 29×3 inch tyres if you are really looking to maximize traction. There’s no rack mounts on the Hunt which clearly states the intentions of this bike. MTB+ camping=FUN! If this sounds like you, maybe this is the bike you need!

The wheels are attached with SRAM Maxle axles, 15mm front and 12mm rear helping reduce wheel flex when pushing hard on the trails.

The Hunt bikes have no provision for a front deraileur, but with the lastest iteration of 1x groupsets with wide range casettes (11-46 shimano and 10-50 Sram) maybe there is no need for added complications when out in the back country.
