Velo Orange are a small American Company who sell beautiful parts and accessories with a classic look.  They cater more to the touring, randonneuring and commuting end of things rather than the racing end of things.

Here’s how they describe themselves….”Most cyclists don’t race, yet they ride uncomfortable racing bikes and try to go too fast and so miss much of the world around them. Our emphasis is on a more relaxed and comfortable style of riding, and on refined bikes that are comfortable on a century ride, an inn-to-inn tour, or even on a ramble down your favorite dirt road.”

 

Many of the VO products are versions of old French designs that haven’t been available for years.  They modernize the designs, and have them made in Taiwan. They are reliably nicely finished, tend to be silver and embody a real understanding of the uses to which they will be put. They also make little parts for really specific purposes that provide elegant solutions or neat ways of mounting things like mudguards, racks and bells.  They also make French threaded headsets and bottom brackets, which have traditionally been the big stumbling blocks for people reconditioning old French bikes.

We keep a good range of their parts and accessories. We’re particularly fond of their brilliant Japanese brass bells, VO branded handlebars, racks, stems, mudguards, water bottle cages, seatposts and headsets.  They also do some lovely leather accessories that are cheaper than the Brooks equivalents.
